THE FISHING TOWN OF KALI
Kali is a town of the most famous Adriatic fishermen who have shown their fishing skills on the world's oceans.
The town is characterised by two small fishing bays that are home to numerous fishing boats and docks with fishermen repairing fishing nets.
The fishermen's patron saint is St. Lawrence who is honoured by many of fishing festivals. The most famous one is called »Tunuara«, and it takes place in the beginning of August every year. More than 30 fishing ships are presented at this festival where tourists are able to taste the indigenous blue fish and delicious home-prepared food and beverages.
Kali is the biggest town on the islands near Zadar.
The old town core with its narrow streets and Dalmatian houses made of stone lies on a small hill with an amazing sea view.
Kali is also known for its dialect.
The town is famous for its agriculture (especially for the olive oil production), fishing tradition, and it is characterised by a true Mediterranean spirit.

The island of Ugljan is connected with Zadar by a regular ferry line (every hour).
